Sodium Lignosulfonate is a brown to dark brown free-flowing powder derived from natural lignin during the sulfite pulping process. It is an anionic polymer widely used as a water-reducing agent in concrete admixtures, a binder in animal feed pellets, foundry sand, ceramics, fertilizers, and dust suppression applications. The product is highly soluble in water and provides excellent dispersing, binding, chelating, and plasticizing properties. Typical specifications include a sodium lignosulfonate content of 90%, moisture content of 7%, pH (10% solution) of 8.010.0, reducing sugar content of 5%, water-insoluble matter of 1.5%, and a bulk density of approximately 0.50.7 g/cm. It appears as a brown powder with a characteristic odor and is supplied in 25 kg woven PP bags with PE liners or bulk packaging. When stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place away from moisture and direct sunlight, the product typically has a shelf life of 24 months.
